Current Schedule

Monday 5pm-8pm
Adult Film Acting I, II, III, & IV - An introduction to on-camera acting, with emphasis on performing commercials and P.S.A.s (Public Service Announcements) and some improvisation.  The student will learn how to effectively perform short monologues. This course is filmed and critiqued.

Tuesday 5pm-8pm Film Study class, "The Classics" Class starts April 27th! - This class will be focusing on extraordinary acting and fine scripts that are not totally dependent on C.G.I. or special effects, which so many that are currently in release are.  All films will be selected by Steve Willmon for their excellence.  Popcorn and soft drinks will be provided.  All this for the low price of $12!

Wednesday 5pm-8pm  Scene Study - Scenes are performed with two or more actors and are comprised entirely of spoken dialogue between and/or among the actors. Students learn to “listen” to other actors and react in non-verbal ways. (Facial Expressions, Body Language, Tone, Etc.) Students are required to commit their parts to memory.  Filmed and Critiqued. 

Thursday 5pm-8pm Cold Read/Table Read  -  Student is taught how to cold read Privates by performance level for casting directors in the audition process. Cold reading IS the audition

Friday(other days available upon request) Privates by appointment.

Children's Film Acting I-III - Beginning actors as well as more advanced-everything your child will need to know about how to give a successful audition, cold read, and stay in character as well as think in character.  Filmed and Critiqued.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     
Sunday  11am-5pm/12pm-3pm ( check workshop page for current dates) adult 6 hr. workshops 11am-5pm for only $79.97/children 3 hr. workshops 12pm-3pm for only $42.65 - We concentrate on every aspect of acting. Current Class Descriptions:
Children's Film Acting I-III
 I -
Students will be given short commercials to perform and some monologues and improvisation
 II - Features basic camera techniques and how to polish the performance in commercials, interactive commercials, monologues and improvisation.
 III - Advanced level class to enable each student to behave on a professional level while on camera - includes audition techniques, commercials, PSA work, monologue and short scene studies.      
Each level is a 12 week course. Filmed and critiqued.
Adult Basic Workshops
Film Acting I
- An introduction to on-camera acting, with emphasis on performing commercials and PSA's and some improvisation.  The students will learn how to effectively perform short monologues.
Film Acting II - The class emphasizes camera technique while performing to enhance the student's presentation.  Students will be required to perform commercials, PSA's, monologues and some short scene studies in addition to improvisational scenes.
Film Acting III - This class introduces the students to techniques that will enable them to begin performing on a more professional level.  More memorization will be required and the critiques become more detailed and focused on the student's individual levels.  The students will participate in cold reading and perform in commercials, PSA's, monologues, scene studies with an emphasis on "getting into character" and focus.
Film Acting IV - This class will allow the student to experience the full range of filmed performance, from audition, casting, rehearsal and final on-camera presentation.  Each student will be required to perform a role in a scripted film and will be working in costume with props.  The entire script will be filmed after thorough rehearsals. Professional level, by audition only. 
Film Study
Students will view select films to further their knowledge and understanding of what makes scenes effective as performed on screen - emphasis on timing, interaction and believability will be explored and discussed.  A wide range of films will be presented, including all genres.  3hr Class
Each level is a 10 week course. Filmed and critiqued.
Future Class Descriptions:
Commercial/Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
Explores how to be effective on TV commercials and PSAs. A hands-on class emphasizing projection, attitude, and how to put your personality into the work. Filmed and critiqued.
Voice and Diction
Stress elocution, projection, enunciation, tonal inflection, and clarity in speech.  An important element in the acting process.
Public Speaking
This class touches on how to be confident when speaking in front of others.  Business presentations, emceeing, group discussions, etc. Filmed and critiqued.
Dialect & "Character" Voices
How to add realism to your character when a particular dialect is required, including playing specific "types" (older, ethnic, country, slang, etc).  Add to repertoire.
Broadcasting & On-Camera Interview
This class touches base on how to cold read for radio and television broadcasting and how to speak more effectively - includes interviews for talk shows, news, etc. Filmed and critiqued.
"Walk-In"
This "Brush-up" class is unstructured and touches on the basics of film acting.  Each student is allowed to focus on individual areas of instruction as requested.  Both individual and interactive work is explored.  No memorization required. Filmed and critiqued.
Master Acting
An intensive professional level course for actors performing pre-rehearsed scene studies and monologues as well as deep character improvisations.  This class will meet ONE Sunday per month. Filmed and critiqued.
Improvisation
Improvisation is very important to the acting process.  The student will learn to think creatively and to narrow their focus in these scenes.  The "backstory" of each portrayal is explored and students are shown how to get "in character" interactively.  No memorization is required.  Filmed and critiqued.
Monologue
This course focuses on individual actors performing monologues (one person performing a scene).  A number of approaches are explored in these performances in order for the student to experience the full range of scene analysis and interpretation.  All students are expected to commit each monologue to memory.  3hrs. Filmed and critiqued.
